Tehran Animation fest postponed due to coronavirus pandemic

The Tehran Int’l Animation Festival is postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 12th edition of the Tehran International Animation Festival (TIAF) in Iran has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2021 edition of the event, earlier set to be held on February 28-March 4, is rescheduled to be held in the next Persian year.

Some 1,043 animated films from around the world were submitted to the TIAF to take part in the festival’s International Competition section.

The submitted films are from 85 countries, including Japan, China, France, Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, India, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Lebanon, Switzerland, and Poland.

Meanwhile, 459 Iranian animations were submitted to participate in the TIAF’s Iran Competition section.

The TIAF is a biennial event organized by Iran’s Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.

The event also includes sections such as Out of Competition, Special Screening, and Panorama.
